Issue 39 - May 2018
It was an evening of connection, storytelling, and the celebration of ‘doing the right thing.'

With leaders and influencers from Canada’s business community, award-winning employers, and government in attendance, philanthropist and keynote speaker Michael “Pinball” Clemons expectedly delivered an impassioned speech on empowering youth through education.

The 2018 Achievement Awards provided Career Edge with the opportunity to formally recognize and celebrate the success of our interns, and the dedication of our partner employers to launching meaningful careers.

We presented RBC with the Milestone Award for launching the most careers in a single fiscal year (125 in 2017/18), and after receiving more than 100 nominations for our Interns of the Year and Mentor of the Year awards, along with the unenviable task of selecting the winners, Career Edge was delighted to read the inspirational stories submitted by individuals whose lives have been impacted, and filled with gratitude for the individuals making that impact.

At evening’s end, the Interns of the Year from each of Career Edge’s four talent pools departed with a $1,000 bursary for their outstanding performances as interns. Our team hopes that with launched careers, these winners – along with their fellow finalists – departed with the confidence necessary to achieve every one of their professional goals and dreams, toward becoming champion ambassadors of the Career Edge program and the leaders of Canada’s tomorrow.
