REMINDER: Order deadline is Noon the day before we deliver:
We have good and bad news this week. Lets start with the good.
- Egg production has jumped dramatically. I have added online the option to order 4 dozen eggs for $24. That will save you $4 and will be available as long as the hens keep up the good work.
- Now, for the somewhat bad news. It's been since mid-2012 since we last raised the price of milk. Unfortunately the time has come to do so again. We strive to be very consistent in our pricing and not increase prices on a whim, so rest assured this came after careful consideration. As with everything, costs inch upward over time and our production costs are no different. Both because of normal economic inflation, and because we are constantly striving to produce a better product. Over the last 5 years we have made several improvements that have been beneficial to the quality and availability of our milk. Those improvements include:
- A new bottle filling machine
- A fodder growing facility so the cows can have green grass year around
- Planting and improving of several grass fields for grazing and hay making.
- Premiums paid to local grain farmers to insure the availability of non-GMO feed
- Various improvements to facilities to enhance cow comfort and health.
It is definitely not our objective to try to squeeze every nickel out of our loyal customers. We believe in the Henry Ford mantra that says a "man should see how much he can give for a dollar, instead of how little." We want to constantly be pushing the boundaries of the perfect glass of milk, for your pet of course. Sometimes there must be a price increase so that we can maintain the sustainability of our farm and continue to raise the happiest cows around. On a side note, upon some research you will find that our price for raw milk is still equal to or less than the other raw milk providers in the Atlanta area.
