Delivery News
REMINDER: Order deadline is Noon the day before we deliver:
We have exciting news to share this week. We have been working for a few months to launch a new Carlton Farms Website. Well, the day to flip the switch is finally here. I will outline some of the changes below. You can still use the www.carltonfarm.com  web address, but because of cache (whatever that is) They recommend using this link. https://carltonfarm.com/home.php
Once you get to the new site, you will see a fresh new interface. To get started just click the "Sign Up" button in the top right.

The site will show you an option for having your order delivered, but for right now we are only offering the pick-up locations that we have been using for several years. After we are comfortable with the site, we do plan to offer home delivery. So... for now choose "pickup" in the first step of the signup process.
I know there will be many questions, and I appreciate your patience as we go through what is sure to be some growing pains. Here are some key items that make this site different from what we have had in the past.
  • There is a recurring order function. For items that you want to purchase each week, you can place those items on recurring order.
  • Payment information will be securely stored online so you will not have to input credit card info with each order.
  • There is no "check-out" process. You just add items to your basket either all at once, or throughout the week. When the order deadline passes, any items in your basket will be ordered and delivered to your pickup location.
We hope you enjoy your new Carlton Farms online experience.

A few other items to mention:
  • Vegetable shares have not been talked about much because I wanted to get the new site operating first. You can now sign up for the vegetable share program by adding it as a recurring order.
  • The 4 dozen egg discount is still in effect, and will be as long as the girls are laying well.
  • Bulk boxes of beef and pork are online now.
FarmFan: Get Text Message Reminders and Receive Rewards.
As one of our Farmfans you are able to receive text message reminders, both to place your order and to come pick-up your order. You will also have the ability to check-in when you pick-up. As you accumulate check-ins you will earn rewards such as Grocery Bags, T-shirts, Discounts.

On the Farm

Sonny:

Sonny is one of the few Brown Swiss cattle that we have here at Carlton Farms. We milk a couple of brown swiss cows, along with our jersey herd. Brown Swiss is a old, large, dual purpose (milk & meat)  breed that originated in the swiss alps. We have a special fondness for this breed, as they were the type of cattle my grandfather first started milking in 1946. We still have old breeding records (the paper kind) from the 40's where my grandfather would record the lineage of his prize Brown Swiss cows. We have moved on to Jersey Cattle, which we also love, but keeping a few Brown Swiss around serves to remind us that there is an important heritage to uphold.
Oh, before when I said Brown Swiss is a dual purpose breed. Well, Sonny is actually a zero purpose Brown Swiss. He could most accurately be described as a "pasture ornament". Brown Swiss are known to be large and we wanted to raise a steer that would get really large as a sort of Farm Mascot. Now many customers and corn maze visitors have been checking on sonny every time they come to the farm. In the spring we host several school groups for dairy tours and milking demonstrations. If you would like to come visit Sonny or even bring your group on a spring dairy tour please contact Brad: at 770-546-5179
