VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - HELP KEEP OUR PARK AND COMMUNITY FLOURISHING!

  CP sign

Friends of Carroll Park is an all-volunteer group which maintains all of the park's gardens, coordinates dozens of annual events and activities, liaises with the Department of Parks and Recreation and NYPD to help keep maintenance and infrastructure problems at bay, and facilitates use of the park space by other groups and companies.

We're always in need of reliable volunteers for everything from gardening, painting, and repairs to event planning and general assistance. If you'd like to get involved in any fashion, we'd love to have you on board! Join us at our monthly meetings the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert Acito Park House or send us a note at [email protected]

LOTS OF EVENTS COMING IN OCTOBER!

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18, 7:30 p.m.

"Do you believe in storybook stories?" We do! Come by the Robert Acito Park House for an under-the-stars screening of our favorite modern day classic, and weigh in on which movies we'll show in our spring movie screening series ("aaaaaas youuuu wiiiiiish")!

FOURTH ANNUAL FALL KARAOKE PARTY

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Our friends at Lion's Roar Karaoke will once again bring their 10,000 song catalog to Carroll Park, so please stop by to entertain us with some of your favorites! If you're too shy to grab the mic, at least come for cider and snacks while listening to friends and neighbors warble.

HALLOWEEN KIDS COSTUME PARADE

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26, 11:30 a.m.

Get gussied up and show off your costumes on the streets of Carroll Gardens! We'll be gathering at 11:30, then kicking off the parade at noon. Once you're back at the park, enjoy snacks and photos courtesy of Friends of Carroll Park and our sponsor Smith Canteen!

"OFFICE HOURS" IN THE PARK EVERY MONDAY IN OCTOBER FOR BOOK SWAPPING AND DONATION DROP-OFFS

We will have volunteers stationed at the Robert Acito Park House every Monday in October from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., manning our popular book swap cart, accepting donations of clothing and textiles for our HousingWorks donation bin, and collecting functioning iPods to help Alzheimer's and dementia patients through Music & Memory. Clean out your bookshelves and closets and come say hello any given Monday!
