Join Court Street Merchants Association and Friends of Carroll Park as we flip the switch on our seasonal decor on the Louis Valentino, Jr. Ball Field, then come to the park house for music, munchies, and merry-making! If we're lucky, we may even get paid a visit by a bearded gent with a red suit and a sack full of goodies...

UPDATE: In addition to the speakers and entertainment on the ball field, our friends from Smith Street Stage will be presenting their radio play recording of "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens outside the park house mid-event!

Carroll Park is proud to be a collection site for City Harvest's annual Daily News Readers Care to Feed the Hungry Drive! We'll have volunteers stationed at the Robert Acito Park House both days this weekend from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., ready to receive your donated non-perishables!

The items most needed are:

- canned fruit

- canned vegetables

- peanut butter (plastic jars)

- macaroni and cheese (packaged)

- hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized)

In the spirit of the holiday season, won't you please pick up some extra items for your hungry neighbors? If you'd like to volunteer for a future collection shift, please contact us via email, Facebook, or Twitter. Nobody should have to go hungry in New York City, and we hope you'll help make sure nobody does!

Please note that City Harvest cannot accept glass containers, past "best by" date, or dented cans.

Don't forget to follow us on Twitter and "Like" our page on Facebook!
