Dear League Supporter,
As you know, the League of Women Voters of Florida is standing on the front lines in the war against voter suppression. Between the 2011 elections law and the recent voter purges, Florida's executive and legislative branches have gone all out to block the vote. Little did they know that this group of "little ladies" was prepared to meet them toe-to-toe! Our work is paying off: on May 31, a federal judge blocked the most onerous provisions of the 2011 law, allowing us to resume our voter registration work in Florida. Additionally, we are monitoring the voter purge and supporting the Department of Justice's efforts to bring it to a halt. Just last night, our work was highlighted on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
