2016 Election: Two Measures that will Impact Schools
Sacramento voters in November will be asked to weigh in on two measures - Proposition 55 and Measure G - that affect funding to Sacramento City Unified School District. Proposition 55 extends income taxes on California's wealthiest earners but doesn't raise taxes for anyone. Money from Proposition 55 goes directly to school districts. Measure G is a parcel tax that will help fund programs for struggling students and help bring the arts to all schools.
More information about Measure G and Proposition 55.
The deadline to register to vote is midnight TODAY, Oct. 24. ( Check your registration status online.)
College Finance Workshop Set
Carver's new college advisor Mrs. Astrid Kinn will be offering an evening on Finances for College featuring a Fill out the FAFSA workshop 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16 in room 204. In addition to the FAFSA, there are a number of ways to find money to pay for college.

Carver seniors and their parents are also invited to contact Mrs. Kinn to set up an appointment to discuss college applications and admissions. You may email her at [email protected].
6th annual California Solar Regatta
The California Solar Regatta is one way students can experience hands-on learning about renewable energy while having fun outside and helping reduce environmental impacts. It's also a great opportunity for high school students to work together as a team, develop a solar powered boat, and compete against other high schools in a series of events. SMUD, the sponsoring organization, will provide the solar modules. Check out the event flyer here.

Carver seeks a parent team leader to coordinate a team of students after-school meetings two times a week. For more information, contact Molly Mix at [email protected].
Land of the Rising Sun: 11 Day Tour of Japan
