Message from the Principal: Back To School Night

Back-to-School Night is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. THIS Thursday, September 15.

We begin promptly at 6 p.m. in the school gym for an all-school welcome.

Parents will then go to their student's advisory class to pick up their daily class schedule. You will walk through the day, meeting each teacher and learning about each class your student has this year.

Back-to-School night is a welcome and introduction for new families. It is also time to reconnect with the teachers. You will also learn about opportunities to support the school by volunteering and contributing.

We look forward to seeing you Thursday night at 6 p.m.!

Warmly,
Allegra Alessandri, Principal
Mather Air Show Surprise

Four members of the U.S. Air Force joined Rancho Cordova Council member Robert McGarvey to surprise Carver with 150 free tickets for our students to the California Air Show. The team was escorted by Rancho Cordova motorcycle police and they delivered a giant Top Secret vault. The city hopes to grow the program #InspireTheFuture.

Seen in the Carver Classroom

Denis Herlehy's class recently did a lesson in class talking about stress and how it effects oneself. Rubber bands were placed around the watermelon one by one until the watermelon exploded. Check out Carver on YouTube here.

Parent Volunteer Opportunities

Calling FOOD FAIRIES!

Are you curious about a way to help the school, but have limited time? The "Food Fairy" Program is for YOU!

The staff at Carver work so hard to bring a wonderful educational experience. The GWC Parent Guild would like to have families volunteer to bring a healthful snack for the staff to enjoy at their weekly staff meetings.

Please sign up and be sure to bring enough for approximately 20 people. Please also bring recyclable plates.

Food can be dropped off in the Staff Lounge (either on the table or in the fridge if it needs to stay cold). Please label it as "Food Fairies" and delivered to the office by 2 p.m.

Sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0e45a5ad29abfe3-food!

The Carver High School library is operated solely by volunteers. It is currently open to students on Fridays.

If anyone else wishes to help, the library needs:
  • Signage ("No food or beverage allowed in library" and "New Books"),
  • Setting up a section showcasing books that were on the students wish list,
  • Help covering books,
  • Cleaning, and
  • Book Fair.
Library coordinator Debbie Kira is available to provide training on Fridays. She can be reached by email at [email protected] or call/text at (916) 813-2718.
