Take Flight with "Castles & Kites" at Doran Beach
This Saturday, May 6, is Castles & Kites, a spring tradition of kite-flying and sand-sculpting at Doran Beach. Fly your own kite or watch the colorful show in the sky. See stunt demos and browse kites for sale. Build a castle with free tools and molds or admire the creativity of other sand artists.

Meet Regional Parks' New Director
Bert Whitaker
We're happy to announce Regional Parks' next director will be our longtime parks manager, Bert Whitaker. Bert replaces outgoing Director Caryl Hart, who's leaving in June to support parks and environmental issues at the national level. 

"Age Out Loud, Age Outside"  
Older adults and their families are invited to register for "Age Out Loud, Age Outside" on May 18, a day of free activities - speakers, lunch, guided walks, and games - at Spring Lake Regional Park and Spring Lake Village. The day celebrates both the vitality of local seniors during Older Americans Month and Regional Parks' 50th anniversary .

Get Ready to Leap into Summer 
Big summer fun returns to the Spring Lake lagoon when the water park opens for the swim season on Memorial Day weekend. This floating playground made its debut last summer and is a giant hit with kids of all ages. New this year is a season pass!
Bring Your Lawn Chair and Your Best Moves
The popular Funky Fridays summer concert series is coming back to  Hood Mansion, the historic (and somewhat funky) landmark at the base of Hood Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve . 2017 Trails Challenge
Join us as we kick off the 2017 Sonoma County Trails Challenge and celebrate our 50th with a fun run and anniversary party June 3 at Ragle Ranch Regional Park. Explore the park on a scavenger hunt and enjoy live music, crafts, games, barbecue, cake, prizes and giveaways! Joining us are Whole Foods, REI, Fleet Feet, and other friends and partners.
