Our Gratitude List
This Thanksgiving, we have much to be thankful for at the Castro Country Club:
  • The many volunteers who keep the club open every day of the year, serving our community and keeping the place safe and clean.
  • All the fellowships that meet at the Club, and the members who do service at their 35 weekly meetings.
  • Our resident carpenter Stephen Ritchings for the generous donation of his design and labor in constructing the beautiful bench in front of the Club.
  • Marilyn Healy for the donation of the new plaques on our front steps memorializing club founder Steve Harris and former proprietor/manager Joe Healy.
  • Volunteer and supporter Doug Griggs, who donated a new commercial router this week to provide faster and more reliable Internet service for our customers.
  • Volunteer Coordinator Louis Cullen for always going beyond the call of duty, recruiting, scheduling and training our wonderful volunteers.
  • Our new Assistant Café Manager Brett Thomas for his willingness and stick-to-it-iveness.
  • The 125 active donors who currently support the Club with contributions ranging from $10 to $250 every month.
  • Miss Castro Country Club 2015 Miss Somoa That for her community-building and fundraising prowess hosting the monthly Mascara drag shows to benefit the Castro Country Club.
  • REAL BAD (Grass Roots Gay Rights Foundation) for donating over $48,000 over two years as part of their community partner program. Amazing!
  • AIDS Walk/SF, Folsom Street Fair, SF Pride, and Castro Street Fair for allowing us to be a part of their community partner programs, raising vital funds through the hard work of our volunteers at these events.
  • The whole crew behind the “Sixth Annual Harvest Feast: Masquerade” – the designers, caterers, planners, performers, volunteers, sponsors and guests. This year’s event netted a record-breaking $37,000 for the Castro Country Club!
  • The Castro Country Club softball team, the Linchpins, for representing the club during an amazing season of play with the Gay Softball League.
  • The loyal customers who patronize our volunteer-staffed Peet’s café all year long.
  • The 11 members of the CCC Advisory Board who work hard all year long to ensure we are fulfilling our mission.
  • The old-timers who share their experience, strength and hope.
  • And most importantly, the newcomers who keep us all sober. Keep coming back!
And thank you for being a part of the Castro Country Club community, and for allowing us to be of service.
