Greetings!

Turpentine Creek has a lot of really good things happening this time of the year.  This is the perfect time of the year to visit!  Our new group of interns will be arriving starting tomorrow.  Although it is nice to have a fresh group of great people coming in, at the same time it is sad to see the accomplished interns leave.  Our intern program is 14 years old and continues to be the source of top notch care for all the animals at the refuge.
We are working on the 2012 Turpentine Creek Calendar and it will be available to pre-order in a couple weeks and will be delivered by October 1.  This project helps fund the building of habitats so make sure to purchase several for your friends and co-workers too.
Oh, I can't forget...we need help with the habitat fund.  We are gearing up for building another habitat.  Volunteers, get ready and watch the blog for the call to action!

Cat Of The Week
Noah the Ti-Liger
Noah the ti-liger
Noah came to the refuge from Coffeeville, Kansas in July of 2011.  Turpentine Creek received a call from a man who had spent 17 years trying to start a sanctuary for big cats.  He stated that he was unable to continue his life-long dream for financial reasons and had to part with the 11 big cats in his care.  Turpentine Creek took in five big cats: four tigers and Noah, a ti-liger.  On the day Turpentine Creek staff members went to pick up the cats it was terribly hot.  The cats were moved after dusk to keep them comfortable.  The next morning the cats were unloaded at the refuge and are adapting well.  Noah is very friendly and loves attention.  Make sure to visit him on your next visit.  Watch his rescue video by clicking here.
