2017 Annual Luncheon Recap

Our membership completed a survey focused on the value the chamber currently brings to their business or organization and what the chamber could do to increase its value and impact to businesses. CLCC Board Member, Dr Germain McConnell of MSMS went over the survey results with for the membership. The CLCC Board plans to use this data to comprise a strategic plan for the chamber.

Education Committee
We've schedule ALL Educator's are Essential events! Are you interested in cheering on the educators in our community? All Chamber members are invited to join us at any of the dates to cheer on our teachers.

August is starting with a bang! We have two ribbon cuttings next week and our first is with new Chamber Member First Heritage Credit. Come show your support for this new business on Wednesday, August 2 at 11 a.m. The Ribbon Cutting will be at 513 18th Ave. N Suite 3 in Columbus. Allegro Plaza is finished and the grand opening is scheduled for Thursday, August 3 at 4 p.m. Not only will Allegro be having the ribbon cutting, but also children's activities and an open house will be available for attendees! Come see this wonderful new building that houses Allegro Family Clinic and Family Pharmacy. 

We love to see the growing business community here in Columbus, and we hope to have you join us!

 Community events for July for PSAs.

CPR Classes are offered at Baptist Golden Triangle, 6:30 p.m., in the Patient Tower. Pre-registration is required. July classes will be held on the 3rd and 17th. Call the Education Department at 244-2498 or 800-544-8762, ext. 2498 or email [email protected] for more information. 

Baptist offers FREE mammograms, thanks to a grant from the Komen Foundation, to area women who are age 35 or above, have no insurance coverage for mammograms or live in Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Clay, Monroe or Chickasaw counties. Call 244-2979 to see if you qualify.

United Blood Service blood drive will be held Friday, July 21, 11a-5:15p, Outpatient Pavilion Conference Center at Baptist Golden Triangle. All donors are encouraged to give the gift of life. For more information go to bloodhero.com.

Baptist Cancer Center holds a support group for cancer survivors and their families the third Friday of every month from noon-1pm. The next meeting will be held July 21, room 5PT, past the gift shop. A physical therapist will discuss exercising and a speech therapist will talk about swallowing. For information call 244-2923 or 800-544-8767, ext. 2923 or email [email protected].

Baptist Cancer Center offers free prostate PSA screenings for men over 40. Screenings will take place every other month at the Columbus location (August 25th and October 27th). April PSA screenings will be held from 8-11:45a and from 1-2p. Make an appointment by calling at 244-4673 or 800-544-8767, ext. 4673 or email  [email protected].

Join us for a weekly education/support group meeting for people with congestive heart failure at Baptist Golden Triangle. Program runs on a 6-week cycle, you may begin at any time. Held each Thursday, 11am-noon, Outpatient Pavilion Board Room. For information call 244-1953 or 244-2132.

Baptist Golden Triangle offers childbirth classes month. Classes are held on each Tuesday night at 6 p.m. To pre-register call the Education Department at 244-2498 or 800-544-8762, ext. 2498 or email  [email protected].
