Lenten Preaching Series: Fear and Resilience: Five Lenten Stories
On Thursday, March 16, The Rev. James Hairston and The Rev. Paul Minor will continue our Lenten series,"Fear and Resilience: Five Lenten Stories", by focusing on aspects of fear from the military viewpoint. The service begins at 12:00 noon and continues with conversation over a brown-bag lunch, ending by 1:30 (although you may leave earlier if you need to).

The series will continue through April 6 and is open to everyone. Our preacher on March 23 will be The Rev. Dr. Lisa Fortuna, speaking about fear from the perspective of growing up in an immigrant family. Everyone is invited!

MANNA Square Dance March 18 at 2:30 p.m.
MANNA is hosting a  Square Dance in Sproat Hall on Saturday, March 18, with refreshments beginning at 2:30 and dancing at 3:00 p.m. It's going to be a fun time. Ya'll come, and wear your check shirt, overalls, flouncy skirt, and dancin' boots!

This Sunday, March 19
This Sunday is the Second Sunday in Lent and we will continue liturgy using the Penitential Rite.

In the  InFormation Forum this Sunday, Canon Missioner Tina Rathbone will lead a discussion on "Silence and Prayer in Lent." The Forums take place in the Lawrence Room immediately following Coffee Hour.

Baptisms, Confirmations, or Receptions: April 15 at 7:00 p.m.
The Easter Vigil (this year at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15) is a traditional time for people to be baptized, confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church. If you would like to take part in preparation for baptism or confirmation please speak to one of the clergy. For those not able to attend April 15th there will be another opportunity to be confirmed on the morning of Saturday, June 17.

Pledges for 2017
We have received pledges from 21 households/individuals totaling almost 2,600 hours of service to our community, almost  6 ,000  hours of prayer, and over $48,000. We need your support to carry out our ministry here at St. Paul, and we are still accepting  pledge cards for 2017. If you didn't get one you can contact the Cathedral office or pick one up on Sunday in church.

A Basic Renewable Power System

by Ambrose Spencer

God is a distributed power source.

Human beings are a distributed power source.

Humans beings and God are connected to each other because we humans are created in God's image.

And humans are connected to each other

and God is love

and God loves life.
