From Colombus' landing and Francisco Vasquez de Coronado's exploration of North America to Ellen Ochoa the first Hispanic woman astronaut-we celebrate our pioneering spirit.  From Cesar Chavez's impact on worker's rights to Sonia Sotomayor's appointment as the first Hispanic woman on the Supreme Court -we celebrate advancements in social justice and assess the road ahead for immigrants and their communities.  

A very special reception and talk lead by immigrant and civil rights champion attorney Elliott Ozment, with guest speakers representing the Black Chamber of Commerce, LGBT and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,  civil rights and community leaders. 


The Dragon: 
A Hispanic Heritage Month Photo Exhibit

Hispanic Heritage month continues next week with "Don't Be Afraid to Think, Don't Be Afraid to Take Risks" amazing photographs of the beloved Nashville sculpture, "The Dragon", commissioned to Chilean artist Pedro Silva in the 80's, at Fannie Mae Dees Park taken by students from The Academy at Hickory Hollow under the guidance of award winning photo journalist John Partipilo. An Education Program but the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation in partnership with the NAHCC.

New Zealand @NISSAN Stadium
Sat., Oct. 8  - 7 pm to 9 pm 

The annual Mexican National Team U.S. Tour will make its first ever visit to Nashville, Tenn., with "El Tricolor" taking on New Zealand at Nissan Stadium, home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans.  

Nashville Mayor Megan Barry said, "We are incredibly excited to welcome the Mexican National Team to Nashville. As Mayor, I believe that we have a fantastic opportunity to nurture a growing soccer movement in our city, and I know that our thriving Mexican-American community and soccer fans from throughout the region will be out in force to show their support for Mexico at Nissan Stadium."  - Play VIDEO HERE
