Every Day is Earth Day at the Centro. 

Join us on Sunday, April 22nd 10am to 5pm
for a fun family day at the Centro 

There will be children's arts and crafts, yummy food and live music. Remember to ride your bike or ride public transportation. 

 
Earth Day 2012 Flyer

The Centro Cultural de la Raza would like to invite you to our 2012 Earth Day festival on Sunday, April 22 from 10am- 5pm.  This special event features free workshops and youth activities plus delicious food and eco-friendly arts vendors! 

 

10am to 12pm we will be starting our event with children's arts and crafts. 
11am to 11:30am Children's improv dance workshop given by Patricia Maldonado. 
1:00 pm  Learn 'How to Make a Nopal Salad' in a workshop given by Mary Lou Valencia.  
2:00 pm Come and join a musical group playing Son Jarocho music and at 3pm Alas de Moscas closing up the event. 

 

We will have tasty Salvadoran Food from Pupusas Express, Tostilocos, Fruta con Chile y Limón, Limonada y Agua de Jamaica.

We will also be selling eco jewelry from Norma Sarabia and Bertha Gutierrez, Chicana Apparel and art installation. Participating artist are Pamela Sánchez Spencer (EE.UU.), Estela Gama (MX / EE.UU.), Zuela Force (MX / EE.UU.), Bernardette (México), Enrique Chiu (México), Mónica Cuyto (Perú) Marisol De Las Casas (Peru) Miguel Holek (Mexico), Tina Krahl Clark (US), Arte de Gloriace (Colombia), Mario Torero & Activists. Remember to ride your bike or take public transportation.

The Centro is easily accessible from the #7 bus and the 12 and C (City College) Trolley station!

An invitation to celebrate the Day of the Dance at the Centro Cultural de la Raza in the spirit of supporting the International Dance Day organized by UNESCO.    

 

This is an opportunity to share your dance group and dance style at the Centro Cultural de la Raza, a beautiful space to perform. All styles are welcome!

 

Please send a video with the perfomance you want to participate or something similar (if you want to prepare something new).
