To celebrate 10 years of providing healthy, prepared foods for Santa Cruz families, The Open Hearth   has organized a free tasting party featuring fare by The Open Hearth and other local food purveyors who also embrace food as medicine: Kitchen Witch Bone Broth, Roots Kava Bar, Creative Cultures, Burn Hot Sauces and Tastes Like Love. The event is free and open to the public.

There will be a plethora of nutritious tasty bites, a no-host bar offering signature cocktails for sale made with freshly prepared mixers from The Open Hearth, and acoustic music.

Second Harvest Food Bank's Passion for Produce program (P4P) will be there representing and will get to share about their mission. P4P is a peer education nutrition program operating at 34 sites across Santa Cruz County that engages 200 volunteers and supports 1,300 low-income families with healthy foods and education. There will also be raffle with great prizes to benefit. And part of the proceeds of meal package purchased by or for new customers that night will be donated to the program as well.

Just a reminder that virtually all of the Open Hearth's ingredients are organic. Food is gluten-free, plant-based and contains very little soy unless otherwise indicated (I do use Bragg's Liquid Aminos and Organic Wheat-free Tamari to season food, both contain soy). Ingredients  are always available upon request. The Open Hearth is committed to using fresh, local, organically grown whole foods and to knowing that food is medicine.
