It has been over a year since the Museum of the Mississippi Delta completed the partial renovation of our facility . During the past twelve months, our board and staff have committed to presenting excellence in programing and exhibitions . 

The highlight of our year was the traveling exhibition, The Power of Children: Making a Difference, from March 31 to May 25 . This one-of-a-kind exhibit told the story of three children who made a difference in the world around them: Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges and Ryan White . Over 1,200 people visited the MoMD during the nine-week run.

The staff and board were delighted to welcome Holocaust survivor Isla Goldberg on May 3, for Yom Hashoah or Holocaust Remembrance Day . The program was held in conjunction with the Institute of Southern Jewish Life and funded by the Mississippi Humanities Committee . Over 100 people enjoyed the program.

At our Annual Meeting on November 8, we elected Miller Arant to a second term as President. We elected Tracy Shelton as Vice President and Lanie Sturdivant as Treasurer. We also added four new board members: Deborah Bynum, Debra Hibbler, Charlot Ray and Clifton Thach . We ended our fiscal year in September 2016 with a positive balance, yet, we still need your help.

Our Annual tradition of displaying Christmas trees decorated by community organizations is on display through January 6th. Drop in Monday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm and take a look at these creative displays!

Free admission for current members of the Museum of the Mississippi Delta. Non-Members pay regular admission price.

Story Time with Santa & Mrs. Claus
December 15th, 5 pm - 7 pm
Children can enjoy story time with Santa and Mrs. Claus, then get their picture taken. Light refreshments will be served.

Annual Fund Drive
We invite you to participate in our 2016 Annual Fund Drive. The MoMD accepts your tax-deductible, end-of-the-year donations to help fund our educational programs. This year's goal is $3,000. Mississippi's Bicentennial Exhibit
February 8-9, 2017
In celebration of the bicentennial of Mississippi's statehood in 2017, the Mississippi Department of Archives and History is creating a new traveling exhibit centered around two of its most significant and compelling artifacts-the original 1817 Mississippi constitution and the 1818 United States flag that flew over the nation after Mississippi became a state.

Friends of the Museum
Meets on the 2nd Thursday of Each Month
The volunteers for the Museum are called the Friends of the Museum. The Friends serve at the front desk, where they greet visitors and answer the phone. They also assist in guiding tours, hosting receptions, mail-outs and other Museum activities.  The Friends of the Museum meet at 10:00 a.m. the second Thursday of each month and would welcome your interest.

Facility Rentals
Treat your guest to an artfully unique experience and hold your next gathering at the Museum of the Mississippi Delta. We offer Day Time rentals of the Main Gallery and Community Room for board meetings, seminars, and other activities. The entire Museum is available in the evenings to host your private reception, or corporate dinner.
