March is Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month, a time to recognize the contributions women have made over the centuries. Make plans to honor the women who've influenced you. International Women's Day is March 8, a time to honor our global relationships. Here are some ways you can #BeBoldForChange. Whatever you plan, make it intergenerational.

TAKE CARE SO THAT IT WILL LAST

The Lenten practice of almsgiving is often neglected, but it's an important way to nourish our relationships with God's creation, including our beloved community of women created in the image of God. When we want to make relationships last, we take care of them. Read the devotional.
LENT: A TIME TO REHYDRATE

Lent, the liturgical season devoted to reflection on what our baptism means --- our commitment to our faith and to the example of Jesus' love and sacrifice --- asks us to drink deeply from the cup that Jesus himself asked to be taken from him in Luke 22:42. Read the Cafe article.
REFOCUS YOUR FAITH LIFE IN LENT

Lent is about looking into a metaphorical mirror, the kind we hold up to our souls. Use the Lenten season to refocus your faith life and realign your relationship with God through 40 days of reflection. The discussion questions work best in small groups, though this resource can also be used independently. Download the free resource.
WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH PHEBE?

Phebe Hospital, founded by the Lutheran church in 1921, in partnership with the Methodist and Episcopalian churches, serves approximately 450,000 patients a year. Here you will find a PV for Phebe progress report.

The initiative, called "PV for Phebe" (PV stands for "photovoltaic," the process by which light is turned into electricity), aims to raise $624,000 to provide solar energy to the hospital. Read an article about the initiative
TRIENNIAL GATHERING NEWS

Giving in-kind gifts at the gathering is a tradition that positively impacts the host city. Download an In-Kind Gifts information sheet and encourage your unit to begin collecting them early.

Fiber artists will unite in making finger labyrinths. Quilted, knitted, embroidered, felted or crocheted, there's a pattern for everyone. We're hoping to collect more than 5,000 finger labyrinths, and we need more! Download patterns and instructions here.

Are you participating in the 5K Run, Walk and Roll at the gathering? Information and pledge sheets are available for download.

We've added more hotel rooms to the gathering event, so register now and reserve your hotel room before they are gone. Minneapolis is hopping in July when we'll be there.
BOLDLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF

The best way to identify yourself as a Women of the ELCA participant when we gather in July in Minneapolis is to wear All Anew proudly

And nothing goes better with the Tenth Triennial Gathering logo than our gorgeous sterling silver jewelryWhen you see a woman in the airport, on a train or in a Minneapolis restaurant wearing our identity items, introduce yourself boldly.
