Calling all World Café hosts!

We're excited to announce the World Café 20th Anniversary Impact Jamboree ...

Help us celebrate 20 years of impact!!

The 20th Anniversary of the World Café coincides with a planet once again in the midst of civil, social, economic and environmental unrest. It's a time when another world is not only possible, but essential - and it's already alive and thriving in parts of our globe.

World Café and Art of Hosting practitioners are at the leading edge of this social change, using powerful participatory processes that we know work.

Now is the time to collectively document the impact we are making and use the power of our interconnected networks to learn together and further legitimize these participatory leadership practices.

We're calling on you - the World Café and Art of Hosting communities and all those who are hosting World Cafés around the world - to come together to tell this remarkable story of 20 years of friendship, generosity, learning, collaboration, and action.

Help Celebrate 20 years of Impact and launch the next 20 - with the 20th Anniversary Impact Jamboree!

Participate by:

STORIES OF IMPACT

City squares, town halls, high schools, small businesses, centers for health and higher education, police stations, courts, corporations, all levels of international government -
if you can imagine a place or situation where the right conversation could be transformative - one of us has hosted a World Café there. And we want to celebrate this important anniversary by telling the stories of impact that have resulted and making visible the scale of influence that this work can generate!!!

A COLLECTIVE STORY

This is a collective story of social change, social innovation, and social entrepreneurship. It's a story of bold practitioners around the world hosting game-changing experiences and impacting the lives of millions of people.

SPECIAL THANKS

Our special thanks for the wonderful support and partnership we've received from The Whitman Institute, a small foundation with a big vision and goal of influencing the global field of philanthropy.

Our friends and colleagues at The Whitman Institute see the value and results that the World Café creates for foundations, businesses, and communities, and has invested in highlighting the breadth and depth of our global impact, as an inspiration to other philanthropists and encouragement to support participatory practices like the World Café around the world.

Share Your Stories of Impact

We will be publishing a
Field Book of key Stories of Impact - a collection of stories about where World Café has had a significant influence/impact in a variety of sectors. We're also generating a list of where World Cafés are being held around the world.

The purpose of these efforts is to create resources that ensure that practitioners everywhere have the legitimacy, leverage, and tools we need to work with a broad range of constituencies. Your stories are an important part of this initiative.

Host a Local Impact Café
Anytime During October, 2015

Use this 20th Anniversary as inspiration to bring your community together and have the meaningful conversations that are so needed at this time. Where are your people ready to act, but lacking the collective confidence to take next steps? What are the conversations that are now ready to be engaged?

Whether it's around issues of food security, inter-generational relationships, police and military accountability, education, refugees and border issues, race relations, or whatever is "hot" where you live - host a Local Impact Café that aims to effect positive change in your region.

Listings will be displayed publicly so that everyone in your area can join in. As a host, you agree to follow the theme of global Impact (open to your unique twist!) and harvest your Café using a common format. Individual harvests will be posted online, along with a collective harvest of the "whole".

Attend a Local Impact Café

Join with others in your community to address key issues in your region.  Celebrate the power of conversation to initiate wise action and impact change. Activate friendships, new and old, by being part of a Local Impact Café where you live.

Globally supported, self-organized Local Impact Cafés will be happening throughout October in locations all over the world.

Listings Coming Soon

Attend a Global Impact Café

Be part of one of the Global Impact Cafés held online in November, 2015 (at times convenient in your part of the world) to harvest and build on the themes emerging from the Local Impact Cafés.

If you have hosted or attended a Local Impact Café, you'll want to add your voice to the themes being harvested, and even if you were unable to attend a Local Impact Café, this is a powerful opportunity to engage with and be inspired by an international community of practitioners making a difference in the world.

Registration Opening in September
