A Note from the Executive Director
Welcome back from a nice and refreshing summer!  Last year was great and I'm glad we were able to focus our funds on the staff support your school needs and requested.  This year, we hope to support even more staff and we look forward to working with you to realize this goal, as we celebrate PPIE's 30th anniversary of enhancing education in Pleasanton.  We are excited to kick off this effort with school registration, now underway.  We will be at all school sites during walk through registration so please stop by and visit!
PPIE Kicks off Giving Fund 2018-19 Campaign
It takes a community to raise a student!  Partnering with PTA/PTSA/PFC, school site and District Leaders, PPIE funds supplemental staffing for all Pleasanton schools.  We ensure your funds go to your school to support:
  • Library assistants - keep libraries open longer
  • Site technology specialists - ensure computer access for all
  • Intervention teachers - Math and English skills
  • Counselors - guide middle and high school students
  • Smaller class sizes - new class sections for middle and high school
You can donate to PPIE's Giving Fund Campaign while registering your student in Future Fund or via PPIE's website.
Join Us for PPIE's "Night of the Stars"
PPIE's Fall Gala, "Night of the Stars," will be October 13 from 6-9 pm
at Castlewood Country Club.  This will be a fun Hollywood-style event that will include our school principals (for wine pours!), City Council and School Board members to showcase student films and fund critical staff at Pleasanton schools.  Tickets are $75 each and are now available for purchase via Eventbrite.
PPIE In the Community
PPIE's Executive Director Steve McCoy-Thompson joined new PUSD Superintendent Dr. David Haglund at First Wednesday in downtown Pleasanton to greet Pleasanton families and help "Stuff the Bus" for The Hanger.  The Hanger provides employment training for students with disabilities and clothing to Pleasanton families in need.  The Hanger received an Innovative Education Grant to purchase more storage last year.

We look forward to a great school year!

Sincerely,

Steve McCoy-Thompson, Executive Director
