Excel Beyond 211 Dollars for Scholars®
receives  $10,000 matching grant from Scholarship America®

Excel Beyond 211 Dollars for Scholars, Inc.® is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $10,000 matching grant from Scholarship America, the parent organization to Dollars for Scholars affiliates across the country. This is the third national award for EB211 in the past two years.
The grant from Scholarship America will match an equal amount raised by Excel Beyond 211 Dollars for Scholars, Inc.to provide deserving students the opportunity to receive financially impactful, renewable scholarships.  By accepting this challenge grant, Excel Beyond 211 Dollars for Scholars is further aligning itself with Scholarship America's focus of helping students complete their postsecondary degree or program with a reduced level of debt.
"Renewable, financially impactful scholarships that are directed to students with the greatest financial need will be an important tool to improving educational outcomes in our Dollars for Scholars communities," said Scholarship America's president and CEO, Bob Ballard. "These additional matching funds help bolster support for students through renewable scholarships that not only support access to college, but also see students through to graduation."

Excel Beyond 211 is a program started in 2013 to assist participating graduates from High School District 211 in finding college success. The organization provides low-income, "first-in-their-family to college" students with financial support and mentoring in order to increase their ability to graduate in four years.
