Here's What's Coming Up...

Raising the Roof...For the Next 100 Years
Great progress is being made at 609 Texas Street on the new Hope Cottage.  The building is beginning to take shape.

A Little Bit About the Building..

The new three storied, 8,500 square foot, facility will greatly enhance Hope Cottage's ability to deliver much needed services to the community in an effective, efficient and welcoming manner. The building is designed with appropriate and flexible spaces to provide necessary training and emotional support to future adoptive families; confidential counseling to women seeking pregnancy and emergency services; provide post adoption services to all members of the adoption triad and seminars to professionals in the Dallas community needing to learn more about adoption.
The first floor provides welcoming access to the public for services and immediate support. The second floor provides offices and meeting space to administrators and program staff. Also, included on the second floor is space for future growth of staff and expanded programming. The top floor or third floor will offer impressive meeting and training space both indoor and out, along with a spectacular view of downtown Dallas.

The building is being built under standards the City of Dallas has established in their green building code and every effort is being made at the design and planning stage to ensure sustainability, efficiency of operation and environmental responsibility. The landscape design is one that relies heavily on native grasses, low water shrubs and the use of perennials for color. The decks and porches will have floors made of life time, no refinish materials and carpets made from recycled products.
The internationally known architecture firm, Gensler has taken great pride in designing a beautiful, efficient and functional building for Hope Cottage's current and future needs. The Gensler team, comprised largely of adoptive parents, was excited to lend their expertise to the Hope Cottage project.
