Marcia Daley-Savo Recognized for Innovative Teaching
Marcia Daley-Savo, a sixth grade teacher at John Jay Middle School, received a TELL (Transforming Education through Leading and Learning) Award from the Lower Hudson Valley Regional Information Center.

She was recognized for her outstanding technology integration in the classroom.

Frank Noschese Awarded Excellence in Physics Teaching
Frank Noschese, a physics teacher at John Jay High School, won the 2018 Paul Zitzewitz Excellence in K-12 Physics Teaching Award for his extraordinary accomplishments in communicating the excitement of physics to his students.

The prestigious award is from the American Association of Physics Teachers.

Welcome, New Administrators
Appointments by the KLSD Board of Education, Effective July 1, 2018
Mary Ford has been appointed Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Alice Cronin, formerly in this position, will be the district's Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

Ms. Ford is currently the Interim Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Chappaqua Central School District.

Jeffrey Swiatowicz has been appointed Principal of John Jay Middle School. The current Middle School Principal, Rich Leprine, is retiring.

Mr. Swiatowicz is currently the assistant principal at East Ridge Middle School in Ridgefield, CT. Prior to his current position, he was the Assistant Principal at Roger Ludlowe Middle School in Fairfield, CT.
