PARP Cultivates the Joy of Reading . . . and Writing
Elementary students are mid-way through PARP (Pick a Reading Partner)--March's annual celebration of reading and writing.

Children are enjoying book gro ups, character days, and visits with authors including poet Ted Scheu, novelist Rob Buyea, and illustrator and writer Barbara McClintock

Seventh Graders Celebrate Pi -- 3.14159 . . .
Seventh graders at John Jay Middle School joined others around the world in celebrating Pi Day.

The students found pi by dividing the circumference of paper plates and other round items by their diameter, decorated the room with the digits of pi, and enjoyed circle-shaped snacks.

Sci-fi Rock Musical "Little Shop of Horrors" this Weekend
J ohn Jay High School presents “Little Shop of Horrors" on Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 24 at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and Senior Citizens. They will be sold at the door beginning one hour prior to each performance.
High School Students Excel at STEM Events
Congratulations to all students who participated in events that showcased and challenged work in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Students participated in the Westchester Science and Engineering Fair - MORE , They also competed in the NYS S cience Olympiad - MORE . The robotics team competed at the US FIRST Super Regional Championships - MORE .
