Recently, the Centennial City Council adopted an ordinance that will influence future retail development on Arapahoe Road. Since adoption of the new ordinance, a citizen referendum petition was initiated that, if ultimately successful, would seek to repeal certain portions of that ordinance. The City values the referendum process as an important right guaranteed by the City's Home Rule Charter,   the Colorado Constitution and state statute. The right of referendum provides citizens the opportunity to ensure their voices are heard regarding City actions. Residents and businesses may have concerns or questions about the potential impacts of this referendum petition. Centennial Ranks as Best Colorado City for First-Time Homebuyers

Centennial ranks as the eighth best city for first-time homebuyers according to a recent report by NerdWallet. The San Francisco-based financial analyst firm examined data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, online data provider Neighborhood Scout and Down Payment Resource for the 448 largest places in the U.S. by population. Each city was evaluated in three main categories: affordability (income to home-ratio), livability (crime rates and school rankings) and stability (housing price volatility and housing market health).

"We are very happy to see Centennial recognized along with other great Colorado cities. Buying a home for the first time is a big decision and one that can be stressful so it is nice to see Centennial excels in the categories important to those looking to purchase a home for the first time," says  Centennial Mayor Cathy Noon.
Centennial is one of the thirteen Colorado cities to make the list. Other Colorado cities are: Arvada (27), Lakewood (56), Fort Collins (74), Westminster (96), Denver (127), Aurora (130), Colorado Springs (140), Longmont (142), Thornton (159), Greeley (174), Boulder (192), Pueblo (390)

According to the Denver Business Journal, the report says : "Lovers of the outdoors fit right in here, where there are plentiful opportunities for hiking, skiing, biking, golf and other recreation activities nearby. Centennial also has many business parks and is located along several key transportation corridors."
