Delay the Disease The JCC serves as a community center from the very youngest who have yet to learn to walk to those who have walked through many stages of life. It is proud to offer many classes that serve active senior adults, especially one that provides exercises particularly for those with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and related movement disorders.
For over a year, every Wednesday, a core group of participants gather with Beth McCullough, Asst. Fitness Director, to work on flexibility, coordination, and strength through the OhioHealth
Delay the Disease (DTD) program developed by Columbus-based David Zid, Parkinson’s fitness specialist and OhioHealth Director of Movement Disorder and Musculoskeletal Wellness.
Now a top treatment program that has spread throughout the country, OhioHealth
Delay the Disease delivers symptom-specific exercises that optimize function and restore independence. Participants experience improvement in mobility, posture, balance, handwriting, speech volume, and a reduction in daily functional challenges. The classes are a source of fun, social camaraderie, and hope. Read more

The JCC is pleased to announce a partnership with Temple Israel who will be renting space at the JCC for the coming year for Shabbat services, religious programs including Sunday morning Religious School, and group events. During this time, Temple Israel will be renovating and preparing the space for the move to their new building.
While Temple Israel will be using the facilities during specific times for their religious services and educational programs, JCC hours of operation will not change. Temple Israel has agreed to abide by all JCC policies, including that all food served will be kosher and prepared or purchased by our kitchen. For the hours that Temple Israel is using the JCC, there will be increased security by police officers who are familiar with our facility.
We are excited about this opportunity to share our Jewish home with a partner in our community. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact either Executive Director Carol Folkerth or our President of the Board of Trustees, Jennifer Cammeyer.
