    Recital Tights

Please be sure to check the costume poster boards on the studio wall to ensure your child orders/wears the proper tights and shoe colors as designated by the teacher.

All Ballet classes need Bloch Tights in ballet pink (dancers on pointe will need the convertible style). The rest of the classes, dependent on their costume, need either Bloch Endura Tights in pink or light tan. Please refer to the costume posters in the lobby for specific colors. Tights must match in order to give dancers a cohesive team appearance. Please remember that these tights can only be purchased at a dance apparel store like Dance Xtreme or Penny Robin - you will not find them at Walmart, Target, etc. If you marked the box on your costume order form, we will order the correct tights for your dancer(s) and use the account we have on file.

  • Important Information Checklist for Performers

Your cooperation with these guidelines is appreciated as it will help us to give you a professional, organized performance!
    • Double check the program posted in the front lobby of our studio for show order and the correct spelling of you or your child's name!
    • Have all costumes, etc. organized in the order in which you or your child performs (The program will be posted by April 27th).
    • Double check costume, tights, accessories, shoes, etc.
    • Remember - gum, jewelry, nail polish, and underwear are not allowed for dancers!
    • Please be sure to check the costume poster boards on the studio wall to ensure your child orders/wears the proper tights and shoe colors as designated by the teacher. Tights orders are due by April 18th. If you marked the box on your costume form, we will be ordering tights for you and using the account on file.
    • Please be respectful of other's space around you, the dressing room is not your bedroom. Absolutely no running, chewing gum, loud voices, or any other type of disruptive behavior.
    • Label everything! (Centerstage Starz is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.)
    • Arrive ready to perform at dress rehearsal and the recital. (This includes: hair, make-up, and costume on with a cover-up!)
    • Bring an emergency kit (ex: bobby pins, hairspray, extra make-up, clear nail polish for runs in tights, Band-Aids, nail polish remover, safety pins, extra hair net, etc.)
    • Bring water bottle and non-messy snacks.
    • Bring non-messy activities (book, crayons, MP3 w/music, etc.)
    • There will always be three numbers standing by and ready to perform. During the recital, runners will be announcing in the dressing rooms. Please be prepared!
    • Performers remain backstage for the ENTIRE show and perform in the finale. Dancers will not be released early from the performance for any reason.
    • Unless otherwise specified by their teacher(s), all dancers need to wear their hair in a bun or low pony tail. Hair should be secured back with A LOT of gel and/or hairspray and bobby pins. Please no wispies! This gives dancers a clean, professional look and alleviates the stress of changing hairstyles between dances. If hair is too short to fit in a bun, then we suggest wearing it in a half-ponytail with curls. All hair must be kept out of their eyes and face!
    • Stage Make-up: Cream or Pink eye shadow all over lid,  Dark Brown or Plum colored eye shadow in the crease of the eye, Dark Brown or Black eyeliner, Black mascara, Reddish Brown blush (please no pink, it does not show up on stage), Dark red or Burgundy lipstick (again no pink please), Powder/foundation (not necessary for younger dancers, but suggested for all older dancers)
    • We do not suggest leaving any make-up with dancers under age 10.
    • Dancers need to wear make-up on stage because otherwise faces are washed out by the bright stage lights!
