Reserved Football Spots Open To ALL
The first home game is FRIDAY! If you would like a Reserved Football Parking Spot, click here NOW . We have a limited number available and we can't add any spots to our lot.

Volunteers Needed
One of our greatest strengths is the generosity of our volunteer parents. We have a wide variety of positions to fill so I'm sure there's something here for you including the new position of grill master . Spots are going quickly, but we still have specific needs . . .

ADORATION:
We began weekly Friday adoration last week and we still need adorers during 2nd and 8th hour (8:49-9:34 a.m. and 1:06-1:51 p.m.). Our adorers are wonderful witnesses of faith for our students and they enable us to have adoration available in the school. Any parents, grandparents, etc. that might be interested, please fill out  this form . Thank you to everyone who has already signed up!

GRILL MASTER:
We are in need of someone to grill our famous pork chops during home football games. The immediate need is this Friday's home opener. Just e-mail Kevin Cook and let him know you's like to help.

FOOTBALL CONCESSIONS:
The SignUp Genius schedule for  football concessions volunteers  is set up and waiting for you to, well, SignUp. This is a great way to meet your Central Catholic Family and to have a great time supporting your school. Thank you in advance for helping out!

LUNCH PARENTS :
We need parents to help our cafeteria staff serve lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. The time commitment is small, but the impact is large. If you are interested, please e-mail Xandra Lee by the end of the day WEDNESDAY to sign up.

VOLLEYBALL GAME VOLUNTEERS: You don't need to be a volleyball parent to help us fill these slots . Sign up now and help the team!
Jeans Day FRIDAY!
FRIDAY, September 1 is our first Jeans Day of the year! Students who make a $2 donation during first hour to our Senior Class Charity, The Crisis Nursery, can wear jeans (no holes), shorts (with at least a 5-inch inseam) or cargo pants; no sweat pants, yoga pants, leggings or jeggings. Tops do not have to be spiritwear or dress code tops, but it's certainly OK to wear those. T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies are fine, BUT nothing sleeveless and no inappropriate pictures/messages. Gentlemen still need to be clean shaven.
Help Us Recognize Our Veterans And Honor Our Seniors
At Friday's Football Game
We are celebrating Senior Night at our first home football game for football players and football cheerleaders. Senior student-athletes and their parents will be recognized before the game, which begins at 7:00.

We are also honoring our military alumni , parents and friends and will have them stand to be recognized before the National Anthem is played. Please e-mail Kim Fox if you are a current military member or veteran and would like to join the captains mid-field for the coin toss.
Call To Action From Our Diocese
History is on the verge of being made in Illinois education, and you and your family can be part of it. State lawmakers and the governor are grappling with a new education funding formula for public schools. But also in the mix is the Scholarship Tax Credit we've been pushing for two years. This initiative gives students across the state access to a quality education. Now is the first time such a program has been seriously considered in Illinois.

It works like this: A scholarship program would be created for students to attend a Catholic or other private school of their choice. These scholarships would be funded from corporate and individual donations to scholarship-granting organizations. To encourage these donations, contributors would get a state income tax credit. We have a chance to fulfill the guidance of Pope Francis, as eloquently stated in Amoris Laetitia:
". . . the overall education of children is a 'most serious duty' and
at the same time a 'primary right' of parents."

Remind: Text Message Alerts
We use a program called "Remind" to inform you via text message of emergencies and weather-related closings at Central Catholic. If you received a message about me earlier today, then you are already in the system, if not,  click here and register .
