I love registration time! It's been so much fun seeing so many students getting excited for the coming school year. Registration continues and there are still more of you I hope and plan to see. Our Class of 2021 is well on it's way to a possible 100 students. That's a great number, but it's the individual students and families that keep me energized. Each of you has different stories and different reasons for exploring and committing to Central Catholic. We are dedicated to making sure every family feels welcomed and is reassured often that this is the right place.

So, thank you to all of you who have already registered! I hope you enjoy your Welcome Video and golden tube that was mailed earlier this week. If you haven't registered and might be wondering about that golden tube thing, check out "Registration Continues" in the "What's New at Central Catholic " section below. We can't wait to see you !

Feel free to call/text me at (309) 533-2200 any time - my phone is always on. If e-mail works better for you, send me your questions at svogel@blmcchs.org

Congratulations to Epiphany's Eighth Grade students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation Tuesday night. May God bless you as you continue to grow in your Catholic Faith!
Congratulations to the 2-A STATE CHAMPION 8th Grade Volleyball team from Corpus Christi (that's them at the bottom of the Neon Sea)! Way to go Saints!

If you haven't registered, all you need to do is contact your student's counselor, set up a time to come in, hand in the registration form and discuss your student's class roster:
Student Last Name A-L:
Your counselor is Katie Turner (kturner@blmcchs.org)
Student Last Name M-Z:
Your counselor is Suzanne Eppley
If you have any questions, feel free to call/text me at 533-2200. Yep, you guessed it, my phone is always on.
Spring Break!
This is our last day of classes before Spring Break so there's a bit more noise than usual in the halls (and that's just the teachers!). We are all looking forward to a break and I pray that you and your families are able to enjoy some time together and have safe travels along the way. If you have any questions over break, I'm in town and my phone is always on: 309-533-2200. I'm happy to meet you at school, talk/text over the phone or e-mail you back.
Help Us Plan the Junior High Dance, April 21
The Junior High Dance is coming up quickly this year and we could use some help on the Planning Committee. If you are interested, please e-mail me and let me know. We love to have parents from all of our Partner Schools involved. This is guaranteed fun!
Mark Your Calendars for Saints Alive on Saturday April 29
Saints Alive is our annual dinner auction and is a great opportunity to meet current, future and past Central Catholic parents. There will be plenty of Silent and Live Auction items for bidding, a wonderful dinner and fun games throughout the night. Put a table of 8-10 together, register here and join us for our main fundraising event.
How Does That Work?
I'm often asked, "Why does Central Catholic do that?" or "How does that work?" Think of this section as a way of getting you and your student a bit more ready for Central Catholic and our traditions. We'll cover different topics each week so stay tuned.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is in it's second year of full implementation and our teachers and students continue to find new and innovative ways to incorporate this technology into the classroom. But first, you need a device.

We can accommodate any type of device, Mac, PC, Chromebook, tablet, etc., but the main requirement for the device is simply that it has the ability to access the internet. It does not need room to download any software, work will be done through Google Drive. If your student chooses to use a tablet, then a separate keyboard is required so the entire screen may be viewed. We don't recommend any one type of device and all have been successful.

If you'd like to read more, this document literally answers every question that has been asked to date. Also, our Technology Coordinator, Jim Henehan and I will hold two BYOD Information Sessions in May for anyone who would like to know more. Jim will touch on protecting devices, insurance, and many other topics regarding the program. We'll have more information about these dates next month.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, call/text/e-mail me.

Why Should Your Family Choose
Central Catholic?
It's now time for our teachers to tell you why they chose Central Catholic . . .

"It's been said that you either make a life or make a living.  I've been lucky enough to do both.  I have received more from my students than I could ever possibly give them.  They have been a tremendous blessing in my life and I will be forever grateful.”
 -Mrs. Beckwith, Algebra

“There is a a very positive relationship between the students and teachers here at Central that is centered around building each other up both spiritually and academically. It is a joy to watch these young people grow and develop each day. I love working here!”
-Mr. Ryan, English

“I love teaching at Central Catholic because I can contribute to the kingdom of God through my work.  Not only do I try to help the students get to heaven, but they help me along my journey as well.  It is so important to me to be able to use my God-given skills and talents to contribute to the Catholic mission of our school.”
 -Miss Booth, Spanish

I enjoy teaching at Central Catholic because every day, in every class, we provide our students with a real opportunity to experience Jesus Christ through our curriculum and the Christian witness of our teachers and staff.  No place else offers so many tangible and real opportunities to grow deeper in love with Jesus and to further one's relationship with God than Central Catholic.”
-Mr. Rayburn, Freshman Theology
Would You Like To Know Everything That's Going On Here?
