CENTRAL CATHOLIC CONNECTIONS
Isn't that logo cool?!? The Central Catholic Class of 2022 is starting to take shape and it's going to be quite a fun group! There are a few of you who have not yet filled out the Application Form and I look forward to hearing from you.

It may seem like time is flying by right now. You're deciding who will teach your child and who will help to prepare your child for college. You're also deciding where and with whom your child will spend the majority of his/her "awake time" for the next four years. Embrace this choice and give it the care and time it deserves. If you have questions, or need more information, feel free to call/text me at (309) 533-2200 any time - my phone is always on.

Why Should Your Family Choose
Central Catholic?
Today, I'll let our parents talk about why they chose Central Catholic:

"One of the things we love best about CCHS is that this high school can go toe to toe with any academic institution anywhere. Time and time again we shine academically, athletically, and spiritually. The caliber of teachers is fantastic and many of the teachers go above and beyond to educate not only the mind, but as we have heard before, the heart and soul of their students. What other school can brag about that?!?”
-Bob and Xandra Lee

“Central Catholic is family to us. We always feel welcomed whenever we are at a school or sporting event. The students, faculty and staff are the warmest and kindest individuals I know. I volunteer in the chapel, football games, and the lunch room because I love to be around all of the students and staff. Even when my oldest graduates, and it is a couple of years before my youngest will begin high school, I will continue to volunteer at the high school, I cannot imagine not being a part of this great family that family is so fortunate to be a part of.”
-Monica Thomas

“Our family’s experience so far has just been outstanding. Everyone has been so inviting, loving and caring. We couldn't be happier with our decision to choose Central Catholic as our home.”
 -Jason and Sheila Stephens

“We are so happy that we chose Central Catholic for our son's high school education. The teachers, staff and students have welcomed us and made the transition from junior high so easy and smooth. I would tell anyone considering Central Catholic to spend a day with any of the students and you will see why the choice is obvious! ”
-Brendan & Martha Greil

“Central Catholic High School provides a family-like, safe environment, centered on Christ. This is very important to us coming from the Lutheran denomination and 13 years in the Lutheran School. The teachers, faculty, staff, and students made us feel welcome and accepted as part of the family from day one!”
-David and Tara Bentley

“Central Catholic High School has been a part of our family for generations. We feel strongly that CCHS is an exceptional place for our children in many ways. First and foremost, the spiritual formation they are receiving or have received will be with them for their entire lives. Second, the strongest academic program in the area meets the needs of all CCHS students. Additionally, with abundant service opportunities and extracurricular activities, the whole person is encouraged to grow and develop into a contributing member of society. The faculty and staff at Central Catholic High School guide that growth every step of the way, helping our children reach their full potential.”
-John and Kathy Wieland
How Does That Work?
I'm often asked, "Why does Central Catholic do that?" or "How does that work?" Think of this section as a way of getting you and your student a bit more ready for Central Catholic and our traditions. We'll cover different topics each week so stay tuned.
Bring Your Own Device
Our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program is in it's third year of full implementation and our teachers and students continue to find new and innovative ways to incorporate this technology into the classroom. But first, you need a device.

We can accommodate any type of device, Mac, PC, Chromebook, tablet, etc., but the main requirement for the device is simply that it has the ability to access the internet. It does not need room to download any software, work will be done through Google Drive. If your student chooses to use a tablet, then a separate keyboard is required so the entire screen may be viewed. We don't recommend any one type of device and all have been successful. The least expensive option is a Chromebooks.

If you'd like to read more,  this document  literally answers every question that has been asked to date. Also, our Technology Coordinator, Jim Henehan and I will hold two BYOD Information Sessions in April/May for anyone who would like to know more. Jim will touch on protecting devices, insurance, and many other topics regarding the program. We'll have more information about these dates soon.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, call/text/e-mail me.
