January is National Birth Defects Prevention Month
Each January the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) raises awareness among woman an families on actions they can take to help have a healthy baby. January is also a time to recognize people living with birth defects. Thanks to ongoing medical advances, children born with birth defects are living longer. These children an their families still need help. They often need specialized treatment, continued care, and strong social support to improve their overall quality of life.

Lake County World's Greatest Baby Shower Event
The World's Greatest Baby Shower event for Lake County was held on Tuesday, October 24th at ViaPort in Leesburg, Florida. There were two sessions held with session A starting at 2:00 PM and running until 4:00 PM and session B starting at 5:30 PM and running until 7:30 PM. The event was a great success even though it had to be rescheduled due to the effects of Hurricane Irma in our area. There was a great turnout with a lot of interest from the community.
