The RUSSIAN AVANT-GARDE in VITEBSK 1918-1922
This exhibit opened at THE JEWISH MUSEUM www.thejewishmuseum.org this week. 2018 is the 100th Anniversary of the PEOPLE'S ART SCHOOL, founded by Marc Chagall in VITEBSK, far from Russia's larger cities. 120 works are on view in this exhibit which traces the fascinating post-revolutionary period in Russia. THE JEWISH MUSEUM is open on Saturday's, but not Wednesdays (the restaurant and shop will be closed). Admission is free. Our bus will drop off at the JEWISH MUSEUM and pick up at the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART. Am optional lunch will be planned in THE JEWISH MUSEUM'S  92nd Street neighborhood. COST: $70 (BUS ONLY)

NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 
 
Return with us again to the magnificent NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN www.nygb.org   Travel to the BRONX  to explore one of the world's great gardens at the height of the foliage season. A special exhibit on view is GEORGIA O'KEEFFE :VISIONS OF HAWAII. The exhibit includes 20 rarely seen paintings from a nine- week journey the artist took in 1939 in order to create promotional images for the HAWAIIAN PINEAPPLE COMPANY as well as a rich and brilliant tropical flower show in the ENID HAUPT PAVILLIAN. COST: $90 includes your ticket to the Garden. 
 
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24 2018 
 LOWER EAST SIDE TENEMENT MUSEUM 
Perhaps you have visited this wonderful museum before. You listened to stories and visited the apartments of immigrants who came to American in the early part of the 20th century and settled in NYC's LOWER EAST SIDE. Recently the museum has developed a new tour called UNDER ONE  ROOF https://www.cbsnews.com/news/under-one-roof-at-nyc-tenement-museum/ We have purchased a limited number of tickets for this tour. An optional lunch is planned at KATZ'S DELICATESSEN and depending upon traffic, you will have some time to enjoy the shops, bakeries and street life of this fascinating NEW YORK neighborhood. COST: $95 includes the bus trip to NEW YORK and tour at the LOWER EAST SIDE TENEMENT MUSEUM.

IT'S ALWAYS A SELL-OUT! Our "December Wednesday" EXCURSION is a chance to shop, celebrate, enjoy a Broadway show or the Rockettes and more. You can also visit all of the museums mentioned above if you didn't have a chance to see the season's wonderful offerings. We are planning to return again to the fabulous MANDARIN ORIENTAL for HOLIDAY TEA (Price  TBA) if that is your pleasure.  Our new favorite pick-up point is right outside the door adjacent to the shop-filled TIME WARNER BUILDING on COLUMBUS CIRCLE. COST: $70 (BUS ONLY) 
 
You can always ride our comfortable and congenial coach and "do your own thing". Take advantage of our convenient pick up and drop off points and join our regular group of travelers to the BIG APPLE. Pickup points in the Philadelphia area are near City Line Avenue and Rittenhouse Sqaure. We depart from Mid-town Manhattan, and often from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The bus cost for our New York day trips is $70. Payment for our day trips is by check only. It has been far too long since we have offered a trip to one of the great museum cities of the world,  WASHINGTON, DC.  I hope you will join our November trip to see COROT: WOMEN at the NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART  www.nga.gov
The 18th century painter CAMILLE COROT is mostly known for his landscapes but his lesser known figure paintingwere rarely seen outsideof his studio during his lifetime but in ater years made quite an imp[act on CEZANNE, PICASSO and BRAQUE Of course you spend your entire day at the NATIONAL GALLERY or you may choose to include, the NEWSEUM across the street, the HIRSHHORN, THE NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY, to name a few, in your day.
