Introduce Yourself
What's Your Story?
Hi, my name is Barbara Marom-Pollack. I was born in Los Angeles. At age 20, I married my first husband, Max, a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Eventually we left the States to make Aliyah to Israel. We felt at home and Max became a helicopter pilot in the Israeli Air Force. But then it was 1973. The Yom Kippur War started on October 6. Our daughter, Deena, was born on October 9. And her father, Major Max Marom z’l, was killed on October 17.

Social Action: PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) Welcome Home program
On August 18th, 10 individuals arrived at the home of Maria S. and her 3-year-old daughter to fill their near-empty apartment with items that would make it truly a home. They assembled furniture, put together a kitchen and created a beautiful cozy home for this deserving woman who pulled herself out of homelessness.

Thank you to those ChaiVillageLA members who very generously donated goods to fill her home, and a special thanks to those amazing and talented individuals who participated on the day of the move-in!
