Rabbi Laura Geller's Reflections
"On Getting Up From Shloshim"
Rabbi Laura Geller beautifully describes the power of tzedakah in a time of mourning and writes about the importance of community and the act of giving during such a difficult period. Her husband, Richard Siegel z"l, touched the lives of many in our village and beyond.

Introduce Yourself: Martha Sklar
What's Your Story?
Hi, my name is Martha Sklar. My story begins before I am born in Havana, Cuba. My parents emigrated there from Eastern Europe and it was the only home I knew until age 8. It was then that my parents, older sister and I left for the U.S. What an experience that journey was for a young girl.

Our Village on the Go
Wende War Museum Tour
On Friday, August 24th, ChaiVillageLA members toured the Wende Museum in Culver City. The new museum focuses on the preservation of Cold War art, culture, and history from the Soviet Bloc countries.

Our Village Volunteers
School Supplies for South LA School
Kudos to Village members, Diane Vanette, Susan Levine and Judy Kandel for helping clean up the former school classrooms at Temple Emanuel. They donated school text books to a wonderful school in South LA. 30 people from the school came to help box and load a big U-Haul truck. The school is thrilled to have these educational supplies!
