Introduce Yourself
What's Your Story?
Hi, I’m Shirley Kern. A nursing career was not my plan--I always thought I would be a teacher, but financial constraints ruled that out. When I told my mother I was planning to attend nursing school in Ann Arbor, her response was, "Shanedela, you won't even touch a piece of raw chicken. How can you become a nurse?"

Our Village: Social Action
June Wynbrandt, Eileen Lewis and Adele Lander Burke
Voter Registration Drive

June Wynbrandt and Eileen Lewis teamed up at the Skirball Cultural Center on Thursday night to register voters. Not only did they engage visitors about the importance of voting on November 6th but they stayed for the kickoff of Skirball’s sunset concert series and the performance of Goapele. Many thanks to Skirball’s VP of Public Programs and ChaiVillageLA member Adele Lander Burke for making it happen.
