A number of you have contacted me in recent weeks, or commented in social media, concerned about our Republican state senators in the upcoming legislative session. The most common concern appears to be that some Republican state senators-individuals the NEGOP helped elect-may secretly vote for Democrats for committee chairmanships-Democrats who at the end of the day want to destroy Governor Dave Heineman's agenda of a smaller, more efficient state government.
If you share this concern, I would strongly encourage you to contact our Republican state senators to encourage them to only support conservatives for leadership in the Nebraska Legislature. And by "conservative" I don't mean the Omaha and Lincoln Democrats (or "independents" like Brad Ashford-the Charlie Crist of Nebraska politics) who want nothing more than to expand state government and increase your taxes to pay for it.
