2018 Leadership Yankton Application Deadline
The Yankton Community Leadership Program is a comprehensive curriculum to analyze characteristics associated with local government, organizations, and leadership and economic trends. This course helps attendees understand the unique challenges and issues that face our community and encouragement toward participation in future growth and development. South Dakota Can Now Collect Online Sales Tax
A recent Supreme Court ruling now allows states to compel retailers to collect sales taxes when they aren't physically located within that state's boarders.

The 5-4 decision overturns a Supreme Court precedent from 1992 that effectively prohibited individual states from collecting sales taxes. This means an estimated $50 million in state revenue could be collected annually in South Dakota, and it helps level the playing field between brick and mortar businesses and online retailers. Happy 82nd Birthday to Dakota Territorial Museum!

Yankton's Dakota Territorial Museum opened in 1936 under the direction of Daniel Newcomb Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.). The museum was first located in Waterworks Park, was moved to Westside Park, and is currently in the process of moving to the Mead Cultural Education Center. Read Full P&D Article Here
Yankton Community Library Names New Director

Dana Schmidt, currently the senior library assistant for circulation, will be the library's new director starting July 7. She has been with the YCL for 6 years and is excited to step into this position and continue supporting the Yankton community and moving the library forward.

Fox Run Golf Course Implements New Technology and Looks for Partnership

Fox Run officials have installed the Shark Experience in 40 golf carts, giving golfers an improved experience on the golf course. They are also looking to partner with GreatLIFE Golf and Fitness of Sioux Falls and are currently investigating opportunities for a lease agreement.

The Yankton School District School Board regular meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 pm in the YSD Administration Building unless otherwise arranged.

The Yankton City Commission meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of every month at 7 pm in the RTEC City of Yankton Community Room, 1200 W. 21st Street.

The Yankton County Commissioners meet the first and third Tuesday of the every month at 4 pm in the Commission's Meeting Room of Government Center.
