Deadline Approaching for Promoting Agriculture Youth (P.A.Y.) Scholarship Applicants

Area High School seniors who plan on pursuing an agricultural related degree are invited to apply for the “Promoting Agricultural Youth” scholarships being a warded by the Yankton Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Committee.

The chamber offers great events to help you connect with other businesses and potential customers.

But what if you don’t have time to attend? No worries! There are dozens of other ways your membership can help your business grow.

Here’s one example – did you know it matters to your customers that you’re a chamber member?

It’s true! A study by the Schapiro Group found that when consumers know a business is a member of the local chamber, that business enjoys a 49% increase in favorability, a 73% increase in awareness, and consumers are 80% more likely to purchase from that business in the future.

Did you get that? 80% more likely to purchase. So let everyone know you are a proud member of the chamber. Put it on your website, your emails, shout it out on social media, put it in your window! And reap the rewards. It’s your membership…own it!

To kick off the start of the Peak Tourism Season, the Yankton CVB will host a
Familiarization Day for the Tourism Industry on National Travel Rally Day,
Tuesday May 8th . Beginning at 11 am running through 3 pm the event will take place at The Brewery in Yankton's beautiful Meridian District.

The idea behind the event is to create a one-stop shop for local tourism industry partners to gain a knowledgeable & comprehensive overview of the local attractions, businesses, amenities and events that are available in and around the Greater Yankton Area.

Anyone in the local tourism industry is invited to host a table at the event. Tables will be provided and there is NO COST for Yankton Chamber members or Yankton BBB contributors to participate in this event. Non-Chamber members are asked to pay a
$50 registration fee.

Question : “Do I need to keep receipts? "

Answer :
Keeping receipts is essential to assessing your spending and accurately filing your taxes. This cannot be overstated. It is much cheaper to hold on to receipts than try to argue with the IRS about what is needed to support your expenses. Being organized is the first step and a good way to achieve this is to scan them. It is much easier to organize receipts that are stored digitally than ones that are in shoe boxes. Learn More Here!
