Visit Yankton has implemented a new direct email channel targeting existing and potential visitors.

Visitors have been invited to register for the newsletter via our website since last July, when our website launched. Additionally, we are receiving emails via the Peak Season Co-op through the SD Department of Tourism.

To-date we have a total of 771 email subscribers.

The open rate and click rates on these emails has been astounding when compared to industry benchmarks.

As reported by Lawrence and Schiller Digital Strategist, Alison Kerkvleit,  "Overall a successful or “good” open rate for an email campaign is 15%-25%. Typically the tourism industry is on the higher end of that scale. Average click rates tend to be in the 3%-7% range. We see most of our emails falling in that “good” range with some performing better."

"So with that, I would say your first email was very successful! 36.36% is a great open rate and 23.91% is also a good click rate. Very good start!"

An advertising opportunity exists within this email for local businesses/events.  Click here  for more information on this opportunity.  Currently, we are sold out of space until October and this is a first-come-first serve opportunity.
Question :  "What is a profit and loss statement?"

Answer :
The profit & loss (P&L) statement is one of the three primary financial statements used to assess a company’s performance and financial position (the two others being the balance sheet and the cash flow statement). The profit & loss statement summarizes the revenues and expenses generated by the company over the entire reporting period and is based on the equation “Revenues – Expenses = Profit”. Having a current and accurate profit and loss statement is essential to seeing how your business is performing.
