Tax Increases for Santa Clara County as of April 1st  

Santa Clara County (applies to all unincorporated areas and cities including Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, Saratoga, and Sunnyvale): from 8.50% to 9.00%

Campbell: from 8.75% to 9.25%

San Jose: from 8.75% to 9.25%

Beginning in April 2017 local businesses and residents will have new clean electricity options:

* GreenStart
SVCE's standard 100% carbon-free electric service generated 
from  50% renewable sources such as wind and solar, 
and 50% from hydroelectric sources, 
at a cost 1% below PG&E generation rates.

* GreenPrime
SVCE's optional premium electric service generated 
from 100% renewable and carbon-free sources, 
for an additional cost of less than 1 cent per kilowatt hour.
