The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Economic Forecast Breakfast on Tuesday, January 29, at The Essex Room at Woodman's.

 

This year, the Chamber welcomes economist Peter Diamond, a Nobel laureate and professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professor Diamond's timely presentation will address the ongoing fiscal and budgetary issues currently being deliberated by political leaders in Washington.

2013 North of Boston 

Business Plan Competition 

 

The Ninth Annual 2013 North of Boston Business Plan Competition is now underway! The Enterprise Center at Salem State University will be accepting applications for the popular competition, until 5:00 pm Friday, February 22. Designed to identify and encourage promising regional businesses, the Competition offers $10,000 in cash prizes! It is open to all types of businesses with the opportunity to receive feedback from an expert panel judges. 

 

If  you know a person or business who would be a great applicant, please forward this email to them. Part of the success of this competition relies heavily on community support from people like you!

Have you seen or heard the Barred owl at Ravenswood? Grab the family and come to our Creature Feature--a live animal presentation. Byron the Barred owl and friends will visit the Center giving you a rare close-up view of these animals.  Learn their natural history, adaptations, and behaviors then journey with a guide into the park for a night-time owl prowl.

2012/2013 Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops (YAW Program)

 

Six Week Program begins on Friday, February 1, 2013 

Classes on Fridays & Saturdays through March 9, 2013. 

 

Children's Class (ages 6-10): Fridays 4-6 pm & Saturdays 2-4 pm

Teen Class (ages 11 and up): Saturdays 12-4 pm

 

Special projects for the Winter Session 2013 

curriculum include:

  •  Acting class students writing original short plays or adaptations of classic fairy tales 
  • Students being introduced to elements of costume design and using costume elements to enhance a character
  • Costuming the characters in their original short plays using their skills honed in the Costume Design class with Ms. Jardullo.

Registration is open for the Winter 2013 Session. 

Class size is limited and registration is on a first come basis.

Tuition: $225 Per Student.
