It's been a year since the launch of TraverseCONNECT, a regional economic development organization that includes the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations Kalkaska Citizen/Business of the Year
Long-time Kalkaska area developer and real estate agent Robert Murray is the 2016 Citizen of the Year for Kalkaska, while Advanced Office Supply is the community's Business of the Year. The Traverse City Area Chamber will present these well-deserved awards at the Kalkaska Luncheon next Wednesday, April 27, at 11:30 a.m. at the Kalkaska Church of Christ. Click here  to register.

The first Leadership at the Movies session for 2016 was such a success that we're bringing presenter Anne Bonney back for a return engagement. Join us Thursday, May 12, at 7:30 a.m. at the Bijou by the Theater in downtown Traverse City for Bonney's presentation entitled "The First Step to Great Leadership is Self Leadership." It will feature scenes from the movie "Yes Man", a 2008 British-American comedy starring Jim Carrey.

SCORE Workshop: Social Media Part II
The local SCORE chapter will present the second installment in a two-part series on how to grow your business by using social media coming up May 10 at the Traverse Area District Library. It will expand on ideas on how to use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn in various business applications. The workshop is from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Get registered.
