Contact our Event Coordinator Andi Wagenschutz  at andiw@tcchamber.org for information on prize donations.

Chamber Members at the Cherry Festival
The 90th annual National Cherry Festival is in full swing - and we want to highlight our members' involvement in the region's signature summer event.  If your business is sponsoring or helping out a Cherry Festival venue - or if your co-workers are just walking around having fun - send us some photos and we'll share them on the Chamber's Facebook and Twitter platforms. The Chamber has several thousand social media followers, so it's terrific way to highlight your business' community involvement.  Send your images to Chamber Communications Manager Bill O'Brien at bill@tcchamber.org

Summer Season Builds Year-Round Prosperity
The summer festival season in the Grand Traverse region is more than just a lot of fun - it's also laid the foundation for the area's tremendous economic growth in recent years. TraverseCONNECT CEO Doug Luciani talks about how our dynamic festivals have changed the face of Northern Michigan's economy in the July edition of the Traverse City Business News.

Chamber Tracks DDA Bills
The Traverse City Area Chamber and Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance are closely monitoring proposed state legislation that would make changes to statutes that authorize operations of local Downtown Development Authorities (DDA). Northern Michigan is home to several communities with effective and prosperous DDA districts that have spurred local development, created jobs and expanded local tax base.
Legislation introduced in the state Senate just before the Legislature's summer recess ensure that these bills will be in front of lawmakers again in 2016. Here's an overview on the issue from Government Relations Director Kent Wood.

Join us for Pints & Politics on July 28
The Chamber's Pints & Politics series provides member businesses with personal access to our region's local, state and federal elected and appointed officials to express their concerns and ideas from a business perspective.

Our next Pints & Politics event happens July 28 from 4:30 - 6 p.m. at Right Brain Brewery. We'll welcome state and federal lawmakers, candidates for office and others. The state and federal election season is heating up quickly and we hope to see a big turnout of Chamber members. The event is free thanks to our sponsors at DTE Energy, but we ask that you pre-register.
