Golf Outing Filling Fast
Don't wait to reserve your slot in the 2016 Chamber Golf Outing. The August 17 event is filling up fast so register today!  The event includes 18 holes of golf, lunch and dinner, a registration gift, prize and drink tickets and more.

This year's outing will be hosted by our friends at Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa in Benzie County, among the top golf destinations in Northwest Michigan. The Golf Outing supports Chamber leadership programming, and specifically our landmark Leadership Grand Traverse program.  It's a productive way to spend your day with business and community leaders from across the region.

Prize donations for the raffle drawing are also needed - another great way to promote your company to the business community. For more information contact Event Coordinator Andi Wagenschutz at andiw@tcchamber.org

IMPACT |  Advocacy for Business
Join us for Pints & Politics on July 28
While all politics may be local, there are hundreds of state and federal laws and administrative rules that impact local businesses each and every day. The Chamber's Pints & Politics series provides member businesses with personal access to these decision makers to express their concerns and ideas from a business perspective.

Our next Pints & Politics event happens July 28 from 4:30 - 6 p.m. at Right Brain Brewery. We'll welcome state and federal lawmakers,  candidates for office and others, and hope to see a big turnout of Chamber members. The event is free thanks to our sponsors at DTE Energy, but we ask that you pre-register.

Pints & Politics is made possible by:

State Business Taxes Payable Online
The state Treasury Department is instructing business owners to pay state Sales, Use and Withholding taxes online. The state is phasing out use of Form 2328 to pay those taxes, and this week is contacting businesses that had been utilizing Form 2328 with instructions on how to set up an online account to make state tax payments. You can set up an account or change your account information through Michigan Treasury Online.

Share Your National Cherry Festival Fun!
We're just a few days way from the opening of the 90th annual National Cherry Festival! The local business community always steps up in a big way to support the Cherry Festival, and we want to highlight our members' involvement in Northern Michigan's signature summer event.

If your business is sponsoring or helping out a Cherry Festival venue - or if your people are just walking around having fun - send us some photos and we'll share them on the Chamber's Facebook or Twitter platforms. The Chamber has several thousand social media followers, so it's terrific way to highlight your business' community involvement.  Send your images to Chamber Communications Manager Bill O'Brien at bill@tcchamber.org
Save on Workers Comp Costs
Membership in the Chamber offers your business several cost-saving benefits, including a 5-percent discount in workers compensation insurance rates through the Accident Fund Insurance Company of America.

Beyond the insurance discount, participating Chamber businesses have shared more than $2.9 million in dividends paid by the Accident Fund over the past 16 years through their excellent performance in improving workplace safety.   Last year alone, around 190 Chamber member businesses across Northern Michigan shared over $200,000 in Accident Fund dividends, with payments ranging from $20 to more than $9,000.
