We're excited for the next stage of the 2016 Small Business Celebration which kicks off with tonight's SBC Candidates Showcase. Nominations Open in Kalkaska
The Kalkaska Chamber Luncheon is coming up April 27 starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Kalkaska Church of Christ. This annual gathering of business and community leaders in the Kalkaska area includes the presentation of the annual Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year awards, presented annually in the Kalkaska community since 1970.

Nominations are open for this year's awards, which are needed by Monday, April 4. Click here to access the nomination form and to register for the luncheon, which will include an update on the US-131 corridor plan and its impacts on the Kalkaska area. Tickets are $15 each and 8-person tables are also available.

Step Up Your Leadership with LGT Fellows
Hundreds of emerging community leaders have taken part in the Chamber's Leadership Grand Traverse program. Graduates can now reconnect with the program, take part in LGT refresher courses and learn about current leadership opportunities in the area by taking part in the Leadership Grand Traverse Fellows alumni program. LGT Fellows receive exclusive communications and updates, access to "Deep Dive" programs on LGT topics and support the ongoing success of the program. If you're a LGT graduate but not yet a LGT Fellow, sign up today.

Hear and learn from their experiences on the Chamber's Weekly Entrepreneur Focus, airing every Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. on NewsTalk 580. Nominate Outstanding Educators
The Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District in collaboration with the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce and TBA Credit Union is seeking nominations from the community and school districts in the five-county region for outstanding educators and educational support staff.

Outstanding Educator Awards are presented annually to teachers, administrators and school support staff who make outstanding contributions toward the education of students throughout the five-county region. Nominees should have a minimum of five years of experience in education, contribute to the academic success of students, and work collaboratively with educators throughout the TBAISD service area toward the regional vision to be the best educational system in the world.  Letters of support will be used by a panel of judges in selecting the 2016 honorees. Nominations are due by April 15.

Pure Michigan Agricultural Summit
There's still time to register for the Pure Michigan Agriculture Summit coming up March 23 at the Radisson Hotel in Kalamazoo.  Dozens of food and grocery businesses including Cherry Capital Foods, Meijer, SpartanNash, Kroger and others are looking to link up with Michigan food producers. The application deadline is this Friday, March 18. Here's the registration link.
