Save $ - Make Your Business Energy Efficient
TraverseCONNECT welcomes three national experts in the energy field to Northern Michigan next week to help local businesses maintain cost effective and energy efficient buildings and work spaces. Alexandra Harry and Adam Sledd of the Institute for Market Transformation based in Washington, D.C, will join Andrew Smyser of the   Council of Smaller Enterprises  based in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 16 and 17 for two days of seminars and meetings here at the Chamber aimed at helping area small businesses reduce their energy consumption - and their operating costs.
Highlights of this program will include:
  • How to incorporate energy-aligned leasing practices to create energy efficient spaces whether you rent or own.
  • Designing more efficient office, retail and industrial spaces.
  • Spotting energy "hogs" in your operation through the use of energy audits.
  • How to save energy use and lower utility spending to reduce your business' operating expenses.
The event will include information seminars sandwiched around individual meetings with small business people to help them craft tailored solutions to their circumstances and surroundings. Presenters will offer various resource guides to participants.
In preparation for the seminars, the Chamber is asking its members to complete a brief survey on energy use and related topics. Click here  to access the survey, which takes just a few minutes to complete.
Register here to participate in the morning session on November 16 from 7:30 - 9 a.m. at the TBA Career Tech Center. Businesses interested in the afternoon session from 3:30 - 5 p.m. in the Chamber's Blue Room can register here.
