TOWN EVENTS
____________________________

Fairfax Business Owners:
You Can Leverage This Event!

One thousand people will be attending on Saturday, March 14th.
Advertise your business by having one or more employees, friends or yourself volunteer to staff the event for a few hours. Wear a t-shirt or cap with your logo or business name on it while you help out.  Several businesses in town do this every year.  You can too.
Staffers stand out.  Your business will get lots of visibility.
And volunteers get a complimentary pass, too.

Town-Chamber Cooperation
When local businesses bring ideas and suggestions to the attention of the Chamber, we bring those up at our monthly Town-Chamber meeting.  Here are some of the recent results.
  • Trash and recycling cans have been moved from in front of several restaurants on Broadway: Siam Lotus, & Hummingbird Cafe. The strategic relocation of these receptacles has not caused any increase of trash in the streets.
  • A grant has been applied for to install a pedestrian activated crosswalk signal so that it will be easier, less intimidating and safer to cross to the businesses on Sir Francis Drake across from the Parkade.  Anticipated installation: some time this summer.
  • Lamppost banners are planned to go up in the next month or so on Sir Francis Drake to celebrate the town and let visitors and residents know that there is a rich mix of businesses to explore and patronize.
Merchant Parking Permits Available

Here is a ittle known fact: the town offers annual parking permits for 9am-6pm parking in any of the town's 4-hour designated parking spaces, such as in the Parkade, or the Mono St. and Pavilion lots.
Each permit is $120/year.  Available from Town Hall.  Fill out application, include check to Town of Fairfax, and bring or mail to:

Sanitary District Program

Attention Fairfax businesses. The Ross Valley Sanitary District has a "wastewater reduction & water conservation" program funded and is putting together a proposal to reduce sewer flows through installation of waterless urinals in restrooms of public buildings and businesses open to the public.

The estimated costs to replace an old urinal with the new state of the art waterless urinal is $400-$500, including installation. One waterless urinal can save 40,000 gallons of water a year and reduce water bills a little.

If you might be interested in this kind of program, please contact Ross Valley Sanitary District Director Frank Egger by email [email protected] or by phone, 415.456.6356.

Counterfeit!!!
At least one of our town businesses has been stung by a person who passed a counterfeit $100 bill.  These new bills pass the various testing pens out there.  Talk to your bank for more information on how to protect yourself.
