Budget Talks: Last week the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce brought members voices to the provincial legislature when they sat down to speak with Finance Minister Cameron Friesen. They presented their Budget 2018 submission. This year, they based their new strategic plan and the suggestion that the budget be used as a document that shows the path towards long-term growth in Manitoba and how the government plans to lead that growth.

Pet Food Drive: The Brandon Hills Vet Clinic is collecting donations as part of the annual Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association Pet Food Drive. The collected donations will be given to the Brandon Humane Society and Strays That Can't Pay.

Shop Local: Local Frequency has launched their consumer loyalty program in Brandon. Shoppers download the app to their smartphone or tablet or get a free card and earn Local Dollars as they shop at participating businesses. Get your Chili Bowl: The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba will be holding it's annual Gala of Gifts today and tomorrow. Part of the event includes the Great Little Chili Bowl Sale with proceeds of the sale of one-of-a-kind ceramic bowls going towards the studio and the purchase of new equipment. Read more.
