THANKS TO ALL OF THE ATTENDEES OF THE 2015 CENTRAL LOUISIANA DAY AT THE LEGISLATURE

Over 75 chamber members and local officials participated in this year's Central Louisiana Day at the Legislature on May 13. LSU-A's Central Louisiana Leadership class also traveled to Baton Rouge to attend. The day began at 11 am at the State Capitol with a private briefing by members of the Central Louisiana State Legislative Delegation, including Sen. Rick Gallot, Sen. Gerald Long, Sen. Neil Riser, Rep. Lance Harris, Rep. Terry Brown, Rep. Chris Hazel, Rep. Jeff Hall, and Rep. Robert Johnson.

In the afternoon, Gov. Bobby Jindal greeted and addressed the central Louisiana group in the Press Briefing Room at the State Capitol. Governor Jindal remarked that it was his last opportunity as governor to host the Central LA Chamber leaders.

"It has been my pleasure to meet with you here during my time as Governor," said Jindal. "I appreciate the work of the Central Louisiana Chamber and its partners in helping grow the Louisiana economy."

The chamber group was recognized on personal privilege by the Central Louisiana Delegation on both the House and Senate floors. To conclude the day's events, the Chamber hosted a Legislative Reception honoring all members of the House and Senate.

The Chamber would like to thank those who helped make the 2015 Central Louisiana Day at the Legislature possible:

RIVERSIDE HOSPITAL BREAKS GROUND

ON ITS NEW LOCATION

The morning of Thursday, May 21, was quite a stormy one, but the weather did not deter Chamber members from turning out to show their support for Riverside Hospital's ground breaking. The new hospital is being constructed on Heyman Lane between Coliseum Boulevard and Bayou Rapides. Riverside plans to open its new facility in July of 2016. Congratulation from the Chamber!
