USS ALEXANDRIA OFFICERS & SAILORS MAKE VISIT TO CENTRAL LOUISIANA

From September 4 through 11, the City of Alexandria, Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, The Alexandria-Pineville Convention & Visitors Bureau, Greater Alexandria Economic Development Authority, Million Air and the England Authority had the pleasure of hosting distinguished officers and sailors of the USS Alexandria.

The crew members visiting central Louisiana are Lt. Cmdr. Ken Cooke, who is second in command; Lt. j.g. Justin Brantley; Senior Chief Petty Officer Rodney Langley; Chief Petty Officer Ian Martin; Petty Officer 2nd Class Brian Swanson; and 3rd Class Petty Officer Brett Edwards.

The crew was treated in true southern style with lunch at Kent House, where Mayor Jacques Roy presented them each with Keys to the City of Alexandria and declared Friday, September 5 "USS Alexandria Appreciation Day." They were honored by the Chamber's Military Affairs Committee and the England Authority to a "Food, Friends, & Football" social hosted at Million Air, a visit to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Pineville, breakfast at the Officers Club on Camp Beauregard, just to name a few.

The USS Alexandria (SSN 757) is a Los Angeles-class attack submarine. It is one of three Navy ships that have been named after Alexandria, La., and Alexandria, Va. It was christened June 23, 1990. EXPERT ADVICE TO HELP YOU
GET IT ALL DONE, BETTER.

Write an old-fashioned To-Do list

Sometimes the simplest methods are the best. "Every day, I write down the various tasks I want to accomplish and check them off as I go through them and complete them," said Francesca Gino, a professor at Harvard Business School, and author of Sidetracked: Why Our Decisions Get Derailed and How We Can Stick To The Plan.

"Seeing the progress makes me feel good and, research says, more productive. It also helps me be a bit more realistic in understanding what I can accomplish every day, and which tasks are top priority," she says.
